REANS GIRLS - THE RADIO PLAY

We never thought that our play Reans Girls would have such a long life !

Several months ago, we met with Kate Chapman (Development Producer, BBC Radio Birmingham) to discuss the possibility of making Reans Girls into a radio play. Kate felt strongly that in spite of the highly visual nature of the piece, with a little work, the play could transform into a piece for radio. We agreed.

The play was submitted at a national level to the Radio Drama Department and from the many proposals put forward, ours was one of the 4 chosen to go through to production.

Needless to say we are delighted with this development and will be busy working alongside BBC Radio Birmingham and playwright Kaite O'Reilly (who worked with us 12 years ago on Shoot The Women First ) to bring the play to fruition.

Reans Girls is scheduled to be transmitted on BBC Radio 4 on Tuesday 12th December 2006 at 2.15pm.
